Last summer I studied wild roses. I now have three new wild rose drawings. I have a wild rose drawing with buds and blooms galore, a companion drawing of the wild rose hips, and a smaller trilogy. Originals are on display at the Artworks in Fairbanks through May, 2008.
I had a phenomenal black-eyed susan crop that just begged to be drawn. The result is a large black-eyed susan drawing with a mass of vibrant blooms.
For Christmas, 2008, I did a poinsettia drawing that will be a small limited edition of prints as well as boxed Christmas cards.
Currently I am in the midst of a four-drawing pansy series. All of these will be available as prints by the first week of June at the Wild Arts Walk happening at Creamers Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge.
Originals are all for sale.
The original drawings of “Alphabet Garden” are on permanent public display at the Noel Wien Public Library in Fairbanks, Alaska.
The “Alphabet Garden” collection of drawings is the culminating body of three years work. The initial letter in each flower's name corresponds to a different letter from A to Z. Each drawing in the series also contains the leaves, buds and a hidden element that corresponds with the letter of the alphabet that the flower represents. The final larger drawing, Alphabet Garden, contains all twenty-six flowers in full bloom and all the hidden elements.
